I have gone from 24-7 access to wireless to 2 hours a day. No cell, no landline. Everything about my life and my mentality has improved.....staring at a fire is indeed therapy.
Divine Order, as an aspect of God's Consciousness, vs totatialian "order" which is a suppression of Free Will and Freedom which are also aspects of God's Consciousness
An understanding of Real Reality enables the understanding that "Prefect" Divine Order allows for "Perfectly" Limited Unlimited Creativity
God Sees a child's first attempt to draw a tree as "Perfect"
The drive for order is essential to humanity. Without it, man would not be human. But that drive can overflow its banks and become detrimental to life. This is evident, to some extent, in the high rates of depression and suicide in highly ordered societies such as Japan. When the mesh of culture is woven too tightly, more and more people suffocate as they are forced through it.
I had been putting off reading this. I get filled up with a degree of trepidation when my nation is discussed. My fears were misplaced. This was so beautifully written. I liked how honest you were. You did not sugarcoat, neither did you hide your thoughts even when they were not in line with the arguments of this essay.
I think you brought out some of the essence of the contradictory nature of life in India. Wonders of life in India are felt, but are hard to put in words. There is a unique relief and colour in its chaos, but often it becomes a great headache, and sometimes an outright danger. What better place to discuss the virtues of free flowing life and order. Thank you very much for your keen eyed observations.
I work with the word "freeorder", defined as "quest-enabling balances among spontaneous and designed orders." Perhaps this word will prove useful. This wonderful essay is a fine contribution to seekers of such balances. Thank you, Mattias.
When I was a nursing student back in the early 1960s, one of our instructors claimed that 98% of illnesses were psychosomatic. Our minds do control much of our health. I think loneliness and isolation contribute. The Aliyosha story portrays this well. When we are at peace with ourselves, we heal. Thank you for this thoughtful and interesting piece, Mattias.
@Mattias Desmet, I’d love to hear you and @Paul Kingsnorth (author of Against The Machine) discuss this developing branch of control, and other ideas around his concept of The Machine, bureaucracy, and totalitarianism.
Mattias, I am a huge fan of your writing and read your brilliant book. As a former Silicon Valley computer scientist (who escaped during COVID), writer in the field of alternative medicine, and health freedom activist, I have been writing the past year about the danger of transhumanism to our very souls. You might be interested in some of my writing on amylansky.com — including my blog article “I, Not Robot” and most recently, “Is Our Humanity — Indeed, Our Very Soul — On the Line?”. That article also points to my new book, Living in Synchrony. I don’t know if you have a podcast, but if so, I would love to be on it and speak with you. All the best and keep up the good fight! Thanks for this great and very interesting piece of info. I agree that most of Humanity is looking for a law and order kind of enviroment but since Humanity is basically a unfinished job that the man in the cloud dumped halfway through the construction because he could'nt find a tool to fix the short comings and moved to another Universe alltogether. In that respect we'll have to live with the eternal repetition of periods we as Humanity experienced since day 1.
Honest questions: Why are you here? What is the meaning of your life? What are you supposed to do here and now? Why?

Beautiful and insightful. Thankyou

Your country is beautiful. I cried when I was at the Taj Mahal. The entire experience of India is still working in me.
So beautiful, Mattias. Your words always feed my Soul.
Thank you. I needed this.

The trend toward dehumanisation beautifully and poetically described !
