Mattias, I agree with you but only up to a point. A large portion of population on the left is incapable of free thinking or any type of reasoning. It's been my experience that these people are trapped in their own paranoid world, where everyone is a conspiracy theorist and is after them. Truth and reality doesn't resonate with them, I have never seen anything like it except under socialism. The difference is under socialism there were only few true believers, today people on the left, mostly, actually believe in their distorted reality.

The left is quite dogmatic. Jumps to conclusions. Mistakes the map (ideology) for the territory (real life). Prefers coherent systems to reality. Hmmm.... these traits are found to be aligned to how the left hemisphere of the brain sees the world, as opposed to a more balanced view of both the right and left hemispheres.

I would like to direct attention to the work of Iain McGilchrist, who has written and spoken extensively on this topic. I believe he is on to something. Here is an excellent interview with him called "we live in a deluded world" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4IeuIg9nGY

He's written two books, The Master and His Emissary, and The Matter With Things. I'm in the middle of the first one. His thesis is that over the past couple centuries, the west has had the left brain's view of the world take over, shutting out the right brain.

The left brain's view of the world is mechanistic, grasping, about power, breaking things into their disparate parts while unable to see how the whole is not the sum of the parts. The left brain wants to freeze things, it cannot accept that things change and flow. It must have things in stasis, flayed out, and picked apart and will believe that and deny the reality of things as they actually are.

Ideologies. Bureaucracies. The mechanistic view of science. Rules and regulations. Fitting people into boxes like identities. Humanity can be understood through fact, figures, and statistics. Scientific socialism. Control. The panopticon. Propaganda. Words over reality.

Mass formation. These are all products of the left hemisphere of the brain, acting without the right hemisphere.

I'm sorry if I am not explaining it well. Listen to what McGilchrist has to say. He'll explain it better. But the description of the left brain, and its delusions is so spot on to the way people think now that it struck me immediately as something important to understand.

Actually, they believe a delusion. ;-)

Reality can't be distorted, per say, otherwise it wouldn't be reality.

It's an abstract that's difficult to grasp instantly because of all the delusional teaching.

There can be only one reality or reality doesn't "really" exist. Like truth, it is pure.
